The name Galanthus comes from the Greek: gale (milk) and anthos (flower), which stands for the milky white color of the flower. A bulbs which is ideal for naturalizing. This spring and autumn flowering bulbous plant has been known for more than two thousand years. The Greek philosopher Theophrastus (372 to 287 BC) already described them. Origin: South, Central and South-East Europe, West Asia and Asia Minor, as well as the Caucasus.

Galanthus should be planted early; in the case of late planting, flowering will be minimal in the first year.
