The distribution area is large, namely: South, Central and Western Europe, North Africa, China, Japan and in the southwest of Asia. The vast majority, however, we find in Spain and Portugal. The name 'Daffodil' is derived from the Greek verb 'narkaoo', which means to stun. The smell of daffodils was previously considered to be narcotic or sleep-inducing.
